About Dent and Dentdale

Dentdale offers unspoilt countryside and quiet country lanes which are a haven for walkers, cyclists or for those just wanting to escape the pace and pressures of modern life for a while, but is also ideally situated within the Yorkshire Dales, allowing easy access for exploring not only the Dales, but also the Lake District.

On the Dales Way, Dentdale's riverside pastures and beautiful meadows, fellside tracks and mountain peaks provide some of the best quiet and unspoilt walking in northern England.

Dentdale is also a good base for those who enjoy cycling with on and off-road routes to cater for all levels. The Pennine and Yorkshire Dales Cycleways both pass through Dentdale and the quiet country lanes are ideal for a relaxing ride.

The spectacular Settle-Carlisle Railway stops at Dent Station - Englands highest mainline station. Travelling by rail to Leeds or Carlisle you can enjoy stunning views of the Dales and Pennines.
